How long should I plan for a visit to the gardens?
Many people ask us how long it takes to see the garden, so we've
adapted our list from one used by our good friend Tony Avent of
Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina.
- Casual visitor looking for a nice place to
walk around and enjoy pretty things; 45-60 minutes
- Moderate home gardener wishing to check out
the gardens; 1-3 hours
- Avid gardener, landscape architect, amateur
photographer or academic egg head; 4-8 hours;
- Serious plant dweeb looking to thoroughly
investigate each and every plant and correct the typos on our plant
labels; 2-5 days
- For those who think they need more time in the garden, we can
suggest several good therapists. Or, you can volunteer full-time in
the garden!
