How long should I plan for a visit to the Gardens?

Many people ask us how long it takes to see the garden, so we’ve adapted our list from one used by our good friend Tony Avent of Plant Delights Nursery in North Carolina.

Tours/Groups

Call (502) 241-4788 for group rates and tours. Tour guides can usually be arranged for groups of 10 or more paying visitors or members. Please provide at least a 2-week lead time for scheduling of tour guides.

 

Volunteers

Yew Dell offers many ways to volunteer and learn; work in the garden, help in the office or join an event committee. If you have the time, we’ve got a slot for you. No experience necessary. In fact, volunteering at Yew Dell is a great way to learn, from our staff and other volunteers.

There is a charge for all professional photography including the following:

FROM 1-71 Northbound (traveling from Louisville toward Cincinnati)

  • Take Exit 14 (Crestwood/Pewee Valley; Route 329) and turn right at the end of the ramp.
  • Stay on the 4-lane 329 Bypass, to the first traffic light at Route 146/ LaGrange Road.
  • Proceed through the light and turn left immediately beyond the overpass onto Old LaGrange Road.
  • Follow Old LaGrange Road for approximately half a mile to Yew Dell's entrance on the right.

FROM 1-71 Southbound (traveling from Cincinnati toward Louisville)

  • Take Exit 14 (Crestwood/Pewee Valley; Route 329) and turn left at the end of the ramp.
  • Stay on the 4-lane 329 Bypass, to the first traffic light at Route 146/ La Grange Road.
  • Proceed through the light and turn left immediately beyond the overpass onto Old La Grange Road.
  • Follow Old LaGrange Road for approximately half a mile to Yew Dell's entrance on the right.

FROM I-64 Westbound (traveling from Frankfort/Lexington toward Louisville)

  • Take Exit 19B from I-64 to I-265 (Gene Snyder Freeway).
  • Continue on I-265 to I-71 North, Exit 35A.
  • Follow the directions "From I-71 Northbound" above.
