Behind-the-scenes virtual tour of Kentucky Historical Society artifacts related to farming and land cultivation.

Join Yew Dell Botanical Gardens and the Kentucky Historical Society as we explore the ways that Kentuckians past and present have cultivated land to meet the needs of both body and soul! KHS Museum Program Coordinator Carol Easterly will guide us on a virtual behind-the-scenes tour featuring garden and farm artifacts from the Kentucky Historical Society collection, including many items not on regular display. From homemade hand tools to industrial scale machinery, we’ll discover the ways cultivation in Kentucky has changed over time, impacting politics, artistic expression, and many other facets of life. Finally, we’ll examine a “mystery artifact,” once owned by Yew Dell founder Theodore Klein. What is it? Why did he send it to former KHS director Col. George Chinn? Come and join the conversation!

We will provide a link for the Zoom virtual session as the date gets closer.
