Learn the benefits of rain gardens, which catch runoff rain water and filter pollutants before the water is absorbed into the ground.
A rain garden is a shallow depression that captures and treats runoff from impervious surfaces, such as rooftops, patios, driveways and parking lots, before it enters the stormwater system. Becca Trueman, Currys Fork Watershed Coordinator, and other local instructors will lead a virtual workshop focusing on the benefits of rain gardens, including step-by-step instructions for planning your own rain garden at home. All are welcome to participate in the workshop, but reduced admission is currently only available for residents of the Currys Fork Watershed. Address will be verified, please visit https://www.oldhamcountyky.gov/currys-fork-watershed-0 to see if you qualify for the reduced workshop fee.
This is a virtual session, and the Zoom link will be emailed as the date gets closer.
